You can protect the front of your vehicle from damage caused by rocks, gravel, insects and even salt by having this virtually invisible film installed.
Our Paint Protection Film is practically maintenance free. Clear bras will not damage your paint or alter your vehicle’s appearance. This rugged 8 mil thick film offers a clear-coat finish for maximum shine and is warranted not to yellow, crack or peel for 10 years after installation.
If you have ever been disgusted looking at the damage to your painted front-end surfaces (hood, bumper, fenders, mirror backs) caused by regular day-to-day driving, this is the solution you have been looking for!
The owners of ALL vehicles will see a reduction in rock chips with the installation of this material. Your vehicle is an expensive purchase! Even if you plan to drive it until its wheels fall off, why not protect the paint to help it last as long as possible? If you prefer having a new car every few years, then you will appreciate the increased trade-in value your car will receive when the front end is not covered in rock chips!
Ultimately, PPF will significantly reduce rock chips which will improve the appearance and re-sale value of your vehicle!
This product is transparent – nearly invisible in fact. It does not alter the look or the aerodynamics of your vehicle’s front end like a plastic bug guard or an unattractive black vinyl bra. Plastic bug guards and vinyl bras CAN cause damage to the front end of your vehicle. Frequently, paint under the vinyl bras fades at a different rate than the rest of the car. Therefore, when the vinyl bra is removed, there is an obvious paint discoloration line. Not so with PPF! Also vinyl bras and plastic bug guards can rub against your paint, causing scratches. Dirt can also get behind the vinyl bra and scratch your paint.
Buying a clear bra as an “add on” to a new vehicle purchase through a dealership may appear to be an attractive option because the cost can be “rolled into” the new car financing. But be aware this may not be the best idea from the standpoint of a quality install. Often installers at dealerships have no real PPF training. They may not have access to computer-cut kits but rather use “bulk film” and attempt to cut it to fit the contours of the car with razor blades! This usually leads to cutting through the clear-coat and often the paint as well. Further, dealerships often use inferior, lower-cost films and offer only minimal coverage. Some dealerships just want to get the job done quickly, and as cheaply as possible in order to get the car out the door. Quality is often of secondary importance.
If you are seriously considering purchasing PPF from your dealership, please be sure to ask them the following:
If you do choose to have your dealership handle the installation of PPF on your new vehicle, please have them contact us for a certified professional installation of the finest quality film. We can come to the dealership and perform the install before you take delivery of your new car.
Occasionally we are asked to install a kit that a customer has already purchased on the internet or gotten from some other location. We can do this, however we will not warranty the job. Please keep in mind that all film is not the same! All paint protection films on the market install at least slightly different from one another. This is due to differences in adhesive chemistry, clear coat density, etc. Some have a topcoat and some do not. There are even different hardness levels of squeegees and different liquid solutions recommended for use with different films.
Installers prefer to use the film they think is best and that they are familiar with. Some very inexpensive vinyl film that is sold online is not worth its backing paper and is a complete waste of your money. They provide no more protection than putting a layer of masking tape on the front of your car and will not hold up long term.
In short – You are MUCH better off purchasing the film from the person doing your install.
PPF can be used on Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, RVs or even Trailers. It is primarily designed to cover the front end (hood, grille, bumper and headlights) and front facing surfaces (fenders and mirrors). Some people like to cover the following areas as well: Door Cups and Key Hole area, Door Edges, Gas Door, Rocker Panels, Wheel Openings and the “luggage drag” area on the top of the Rear Bumper. Pickups can also have the bedrails covered.
Kits can be custom created when necessary.
After trying several brands of film, including some of XPEL’s earlier films, we are now installing XPEL Ultimate exclusively. This film is great to work with, provides an awesome install and can withstand a lot, which is exactly why you purchase paint protection film! It comes with a ten year written warranty against cracking, yellowing, peeling, etc.
According to their website, XPEL Ultimate Paint Protection Film is a
“patent pending high performance self adhesive clear-coated aliphatic polyurethane film designed to protect automotive paint, and other surfaces, from harmful effects of stone chips and abrasion. It has exceptional elongation properties for ease of application and this feature allows for single piece installations. XPEL Protection Film – ULTIMATE is a very low surface energy film designed to resist staining and offers superior environmental resistance and gloss retention. The clear coat employs special elastomeric polymers that allow scratches in the surface to “heal” over time, eliminating the need for frequent polishing to maintain a just installed appearance.”
You can easily clean it of stains, like bird droppings and bug acid, and it actually has self-healing properties to make light scratches disappear.
We install your film at our NEW shop at 1865 McGee Ln, Ste N, Lewisville, TX. Here we can control the lighting, temperature, air quality, etc. In an outdoor or open garage situation, anything floating in the air will end up stuck to the adhesive on the back of the film. This can include pet fur, pollen, dust, etc. You have no control over what day your neighbor decides to mow his yard!
However, for your convenience, we do offer a mobile service. *Location must meet certain criteria.* Be advised that a travel fee may be charged, depending upon distance.
Please keep in mind that installs may take from a few to several hours, depending upon the amount of coverage and the number of kits purchased.
